Rare ceramic lamp base from the Fonck & Matéo workshop, Vallauris. Handcrafted openwork floral decoration — light filters through the patterns to create a unique play of shadows and light. Signed under the base. No cracks, no scratches, excellent condition. Sold without a lampshade — ideally to be used with a filament bulb to enhance the decoration. Recent socket, piece ready for use. A beautiful piece of French ceramics from the Glorious Thirties, in the tradition of the great workshops of Vallauris.
