Lamp base in stoneware, Willi Fischer, Ego Stengods, Sweden, 1960

Lamp base in stoneware by Swedish ceramist Willi Fischer for the company Ego Stengods, 1960. In excellent condition despite its great age. The lamp base features two lovely different bird motifs. Brown in colour, the areas with the birds have a khaki green glaze. Two small chips are noted at the base (see photos), otherwise no other signs of wear or chipping are to be reported. The original socket has been replaced, as well as the plug, which did not conform to European standards (Sweden used different plugs from the rest of Europe until the 1970s). The cable and switch are original and in very good working condition.
