Large flamboyant vallauris bowl – glazed ceramic – 1960s/70s

Bring colour into your home with this large ceramic bowl from Vallauris, featuring a particularly vibrant design. A generous piece with free-flowing lines, fully animated by a play of orange, red, deep brown, and turquoise glazes, showcasing stunning effects of texture and drips. The almost frothy turquoise contrasts with the flat orange and the glossy brown background. The underside bears the VALLAURIS marking. Dating: circa 1960–1970. This period corresponds to the golden age of Vallauris decorative ceramics, heavily influenced by explorations of glazes, organic shapes, and abstract designs. Dimensions: L 47 × W 32.5 × H 7.5 cm. A piece that works well as a centrepiece, decorative bowl, oversized catch-all, or sculptural object placed on a piece of furniture. It immediately adds a very seventies presence and a true explosion of colours to a sober interior. Condition: beautiful vintage patina and normal age-related marks, visible in the photographs. Price: €59.
