Shell-shaped catchall or butter dish in flamed ceramic style Vallauris.

Adorable flamed ceramic vide-poche with lovely colours, bright orange, white froth on a brown background, the preferred colours of the 70s. Its shape is quite original, a shell for sure, but a mussel is less common. Straight out of the 70s, this ceramic, although unmarked, likely comes from a workshop in Vallauris where this style was very fashionable; ceramics were often made there to be sold in tourist spots along all the French coasts. It may originally have been a butter dish. It is in very good condition, neither cracked nor chipped, just tiny little points of abrasion or original marks. There is also an original flaw under the base. It measures 21 cm in length, 11.5 cm in width, and approximately 3 cm in height.
