Oak and woven rattan bookcase with adjustable shelves measuring 28 cm in depth and a lower cabinet enclosed by two doors. “Norrland” model designed by Alf Svensson for Bjästa Möbelfabrik. Swedish production, 1960s. Designed by Alf Svensson for Bjästa Möbelfabrik in the 1960s, the “Norrland” bookcase is made of oak and composed of an open upper section and a storage cabinet below. The upper section is centrally divided into two compartments and fitted with adjustable shelves measuring 28 cm in depth, allowing the light grain of the oak to remain clearly visible throughout the structure. In the lower section, two wood-framed doors enclose woven rattan panels, introducing a denser, more tactile texture in contrast with the smooth oak surfaces. Additional shelves organize the storage space inside. Gently rounded profiles and slender square-section legs complete the understated construction, in which the interplay between wood and natural fibre is one of the most distinctive features of the “Norrland” series. Good condition. It may show signs of age. Please pay attention to the photographs. AF545.
