Small in size, large in personality. This Model V-13 wall lamp by Eric Wärnå for EWÅ Armaturfabrik is a wonderfully characterful example of Swedish mid-century industrial design — a bold, sweeping conical shade in EWÅ’s signature red shrink lacquer, mounted on a solid brass pivot joint that allows the shade to be adjusted both up and down and side to side, directing light exactly where it is needed. The shade itself is the star of the piece. Seen from the side it has an almost aerodynamic quality — a clean, confident arc of red metal that manages to feel both purposeful and sculptural at the same time. The white-painted interior reflects the light warmly, while the brass pivot at the wall bracket adds a touch of warmth and precision that is entirely typical of EWÅ’s careful approach to detail. The back of the wall bracket is stamped with the EWÅ logo and “Värnamo” — confirming its origin — along with the Swedish “S” safety certification mark and the model designation V-13.EWÅ Armaturfabrik, based in Värnamo in the heart of Småland, was a respected mid-century Swedish lighting manufacturer known for combining industrial metalworking with the clean, functional aesthetic of Swedish modernism. Their lamps were built to last — and this one proves the point. The lamp is in fairly good condition consistent with its age, showing honest patina and wear that speak to its history. Functionally it is perfect — as anyone familiar with EWÅ’s construction quality would expect. It takes an E14 light source.
