Dutch industrial lounge sofa attributed to Gijs Van Der Sluis for Van De Sluis Furniture, 1950

The lounge sofa is one of the first models of sofas designed by gijs van der sluis in the 1950s for the van der sluis stalenmeubelen company. Thanks to the creation of the sofa, the sofa bed / daybed model 540 was then developed. The 540 sofa bed has an adjustable seat. "our" sofa is not adjustable. The sofa has a square structure of matte black steel. We restored and reupholstered the sofa. For the upholstery of the seat and backrest, we opted for a finely woven pastel blue fabric.
