A vintage gem like this one is hard to come by... This oak boarding school wardrobe from the 50s and 60s comes from an old school in Yvelines and allowed boarders to store their belongings in the dormitory. Asymmetrical, it is composed of a left part, called the wardrobe or cloakroom part, which contains a high shelf and a wardrobe, and a hybrid right part. This right part has a lower closed compartment equipped with a sliding drawer and a shelf and an upper open part equipped with shelves. In the style of Jacques Hitier, it is made up of a large solid oak and veneer box fixed on a black metal tubular base. It has been completely cleaned, sanded and then protected with a care oil to nourish, protect and enhance its magnificent light oak wood. Super solid, it has survived the decades without any damage, apart from a few tiny veneer defects. It has retained its pretty gold metal handles and the small device allowing a padlock to be placed to close the large door. Formerly a boarding school wardrobe, this unique, extremely practical and, above all, very rare piece of furniture from the past would be ideal in an entrance hall or in a bedroom... In any case, this magnificent vintage wardrobe will create a wow effect and will delight lovers of vintage, designer, Scandinavian school, industrial furniture... Do not hesitate to contact me for more dimensions.
