This iconic f163 designer armchair called "little tulip" is a creation by Pierre Paulin from 1965 for Artifort. Production from the 2000s. Red wool kvadrat fabric. In the “flower power” movement, this armchair, rotating 360 degrees, displays its tulip petals in an airy and joyful way. Pierre Paulin is one of the greatest designers of his time. He finds his influences in Scandinavian furniture and in the American productions of Charles Eames and Florence Knoll. In 1958, the furniture publishing house Artifort, based in Maastricht, decided to move towards contemporary furniture and brought together a team of designers including Pierre Paulin. He participated in the development of the Denon wing of the Louvre Museum, and in 1970 designed the private apartments of President Pompidou at the Élysée, then the offices of President Francois Mitterand. Pierre Paulin's seats are among the Moma collections in New York and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. This armchair is in remarkable condition. Perfect condition of the fabric. No marks - no defects: some signs of wear on the foot. For lovers of design and the great history of French design. A remarkable and touching piece.
