Antique bridal wardrobe dating from around 1725-1750 from Franconia, southern Germany. The heavily aged character and original paintings give the whole piece an amazing appearance. Both the design of the wardrobe and the painting are simple and primitive, but authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. The wardrobe is decorated with flowers and acanthus leaves. The old, hand-forged fittings are equally decorative. The wardrobe has been thoroughly checked and professionally restored, with attention to originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina has been maintained. The layout consists of coat hooks, one original and two later added shelves. The wardrobe can be locked with the original working lock. Old, sporadically present woodworm traces have been checked and treated. Bridal wardrobes like this are rarely found. The age, patina, and the way this wardrobe is painted make it an exclusive piece of furniture.
