Set of 6 Provençal-style (or French country-style) chairs, traditionally made from solid oak with a woven rye straw seat from the early 20th century. These are ladder-back chairs (or with curved crossbars) typical of rustic furniture in the Louis XV / Provençal style. The top of the backrest (the frieze) features a stylised shell carving flanked by small flowers. The front legs are elegantly curved in a deer foot style, connected by a front stretcher also carved with a flower. The rush seating is in good condition across all chairs. It is clean, well-tensioned, with no visible tears or broken straw. The set is in good condition, perfectly functional and stable.
