Large trumeau mirror in Napoléon III style, dating from the second half of the 19th century. The monumental rectangular frame, made of carved and stuccoed wood, is enhanced with selective gilding on a warm brown background. The pierced pediment is adorned with a large central shell flanked by acanthus scrolls and foliage, typical of the decorative repertoire of the Second Empire. The oval bevelled glass, set in a panel with a grainy texture, is surrounded by an oval moulding decorated with gilded medallions alternating with leaf motifs. The outer frame is rhythmically decorated with a series of gilded balls and interlaced mouldings, while sculpted floral cartouches enliven the corners of the central panel. The reverse features a traditional construction of assembled fir boards with handwritten numbers, attesting to authentic 19th-century craftsmanship.
