Authentic antique confit pot in yellow glazed terracotta, probably from the South-West of France and dating from the 19th century (circa 1850-1900). Previously used for preserving meats (duck, goose, pork…) in their fat, this type of pot was essential in farms and country houses. Its lower part, left unglazed, allowed it to be partially buried to keep its contents cool. This beautiful handcrafted pottery is covered in a shiny honey-yellow glaze, with lovely natural drips characteristic of the style. It features two handles and shows a superb patina acquired over time. Today, this pot would fit perfectly in the decoration of a country kitchen, a rustic interior, a family home, or as a planter for a large plant. Condition: good overall condition considering its age. There are a few chips in the glaze on the rim and normal signs of use. No visible cracks or repairs.
