Louis Philippe period writing desk/counter in polished solid walnut. Circa 1840. Furniture for a notary, architect, designer, or administrative use. The top of the desk is covered in original black leather. The piece has been restored in our workshop. It includes a writing compartment with a drop-down front, three drawers, and eleven dark-stained walnut compartments for storing documents, folders, or other items. It comes with two keys, one for locking the writing compartment and the other for the three drawers. The handles are in dark patinated metal, and the lock entries are made of old gilded brass. There are some light signs of normal wear from use, adding to the charm and authenticity of the piece, which remains in very good condition.
