Rolf Middelboe & Gorm Lindum End-Grain Mosaic Coffee Table for Tranekaer Denmark. Late 20th century. This is a very interesting coffee table with an inlaid end-grain wood mosaic. These colourful end-grain wood pieces are inlaid with a very intriguing pattern similar to Escher. The base and edge of the table are made of dark-stained wood. It is both a very interesting design and a modest piece of furniture due to the dark colour elements. The table comes from a Belgian household and was purchased new from the renowned furniture company Van den Berghe-Pauvers, which distributed these Tranekaer tables in Belgium in the 1980s. It is in good vintage condition and is signed on the base with a brass plaque inscribed with Tranekaer Denmark.
