Textile characteristics: The armchair is upholstered in sumptuous high-quality wool fabric from the Kvadrat house. Its beige colour, enhanced by delicate pinkish reflections, beautifully captures light and integrates softly into all contemporary interiors. Intergenerational, the Mushroom® armchair (F560) was designed by Pierre Paulin in 1960. A true masterpiece of 20th-century design, it is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. The result of the first historic collaboration between Pierre Paulin and the renowned Dutch publishing house Artifort (based in Maastricht), the Mushroom® made history by being the very first seat to completely conceal its structural elements under a unique sculptural form. Its tubular metal structure, arranged in interconnected circular shapes, is fully padded with comfort foam and covered with stretch fabric. Pierre Paulin successfully merged influences from Scandinavian furniture and major American productions by Charles Eames or Florence Knoll.
