Large vintage tray, wood marquetry under glass

Splendid and large vintage rectangular wooden serving tray with marquetry, protected by its original glass. This generously sized tray features a stunning central star rosette surrounded by delicate friezes alternating different types of precious woods (maple or thuya burl, walnut, boxwood). The marquetry decoration is fully protected by an original glass plate. Ideal for everyday use. Its elegant shape and various wood types make it a stylish and very refined utilitarian object! The glass is in exceptional condition. Note: there are small period dust particles slipped under the glass over time (visible in the close-up photos), which attest to its authenticity and its original unrestored condition. Subtle patina on the brass handles. Width (including handles): 58cm. Width without handles: 51cm. Depth: 33cm. Height of the tray frame: 3cm. Weight: 1.7kg.
