Georgian Secretary / Writing Desk in Mahogany and Green-Gold Leather - Very Good Condition

Magnificent period scriban desk, in Georgian style, made from high-quality flame mahogany. This elegant and functional piece features a drop-down front that, when opened with its original key, transforms into a spacious work surface covered with its original emerald green leather, enhanced by a golden frieze in excellent condition. The interior ("the theatre") offers a refined arrangement of niches, four small curved drawers, and a central cupboard adorned with a precious marquetry medallion. The lower part has four large drawers in mahogany burl, providing generous storage space, resting on elegant console feet. The piece is in very good overall condition. The finish is beautiful and the leather is impeccable. Please note: the absence of a few decorative bronze rosettes behind the pull rings on some drawers (see detail photo), which is a minor flaw on a piece of this quality and period. The locks and hinges are in working order.
