This elegant bentwood classic is a masterpiece in design and construction: the back and armrests are formed from a single curved cantilever frame, manufactured in one piece. An extreme concern for aesthetic minimalism, associated with the organic shape of the chair, is reminiscent of a sculpture. The architect Le Corbusier, who said of this chair that it had a noble character, used it in many of his constructions, notably in the Weißenhof housing estate in Stuttgart in 1927 or the house La roche, hence its nickname . Designed at the beginning of the 20th century by GEBRÜDER THONET, these 2 examples were manufactured by ZPM Radomsko, one of the Thonet factories, probably in the 50s and 60s. Excellent condition, stable, without play, the manual canework, has probably been redone since its origin Dimensions H85 x L57 x D55 Seat height 47 cm
