Antique French Empire-style chandelier, probably dating from the late 19th century, before 1900. A three-light model combining a central body in patinated black metal with rich gilded bronze ornaments: eagle heads, palmettes, rosettes, acanthus leaves, and water leaves. The central bowl is highlighted with bronze fillets and an important decoration of palmettes. It is suspended by three particularly elaborate chains, made of leaf-shaped links and fixed to bronze eagle heads. Three bronze arms with scroll and foliage decorations surround the bowl. The top is adorned with a stylised flame, and the lower part ends with a leafed rosette and a pine cone, characteristic motifs of the Empire repertoire. The upper crown is also decorated with large openwork palmettes in bronze. Very high quality of execution and numerous ornamental details. Functional electrification.
