Restored antique drop-leaf secretary – natural wood & Night Blue

Restored antique writing desk with drop-down flap – natural wood & Night Blue. Antique writing desk with a drop-down flap, reinterpreted in the Louis XV style, probably made in the early 20th century. Fully restored with the desire to preserve its character rather than erase the traces of its history. The old finish has been stripped and sanded to reveal the natural wood, kept light and matte on the top, the flap, and their edges. The structure and interior storage have been reworked in Van Gogh Night Blue by Perrot, chosen to highlight its curves and curved legs. The writing space has been dressed in beige faux leather, providing comfort and contrast with the wood. Its details contribute fully to its charm: small drawers and interior compartments, two large storage drawers, crackled porcelain and patinated metal knobs, as well as small metal buttons inside. Some signs of time have been intentionally preserved: they testify to the life of the piece and make each detail unique. Originally designed for correspondence and writing, it now regains its full utility: small desk, bedroom secretary, console in an entrance, writing corner in a living room, or reception furniture in a shop. An antique piece brought up to date without losing what defined its identity.
