Porcelain Biscuit Sculpture of the Three Graces - Hertwig & Co. Height 31cm. Base 19cm X 11cm. WARNING A finger (thumb) of one nymph is broken. The statue of the Three Graces by Antonio Canova is a neoclassical marble sculpture of the three Charites from mythology, daughters of Zeus – identified in some engravings of the statue as, from left to right, Euphrosine, Aglaea, and Thalia, embodying joy, charm, and beauty respectively. The Graces presided over banquets and gatherings. As such, they have been represented by artists such as Sandro Botticelli and Bertel Thorvaldsen.
