Pair of armchairs 53 by Jaroslav Smídek for TON, years 1960

This is a pair of armchairs model 53 designed by Jaroslav Šmídek and manufactured by TON in the years 1960. The model features a curved beech frame and grey padding. This piece represents the Brussels style, which was created after the huge success of Czech design at Expo 58 of the Brussels World Exposition in 1958.
