Vintage Mushroom Lamp - House Lum - epoch : XXth Century

Old vintage table or desk lamp, mushroom shaped, edited and signed by the company lum. In the taste of the lamp "panthella" of the famous danish designer, verner panton who designed it in 1971. The cream-colored perspex (acrylic glass) shade is screwed onto a chromed metal rod. The base is made of ivory lacquered metal and is equipped with a switch in working order. It works with two e27 screw bulbs – 2 X 60 watt max.  Period: xxth century. Circa: 1970 – 1975. Signed: sci lum. Dimensions: total height: 58cm – corolla diameter: 37cm. Designed in 1971, the famous lamp "panthella" is one of verner panton's most famous creations.  At the origin of the design, the desire to create a lamp whose lampshade and base could serve as a reflector. the curved shapes of the lamp are characteristic of the work of the danish designer, who sought above all to create objects with an innovative and futuristic design.  The light source is elegantly hidden by the hemispherical shade, which diffuses a soft and muted light for diffused ambient lighting.  No wonder lighting companies, flagship of this time, such as unilux and lum were inspired by this magnificent creation for their french distributors.
