Mid-century Scandinavian style folding sofa by Sedláček & Vyčítal, 1960s, Czechoslovakia

Mid-century folding sofa from the 1960s. This furniture was designed by Karel Vyčítal and Miloš Sedláček for Dřevotvar Jablonné nad Orlicí in former Czechoslovakia. Miloš sedláček and karel vyčítal were prominent post-war Czechoslovak architects who worked for the Czechoslovak firm dřevotvar jablonné nad orlicí. Their work is obviously inspired by post-war Scandinavian design, which they not only took inspiration from, but attempted to modify in various ways. This piece of furniture is made of high quality beech wood and polished with shellac. It is in its original condition but very well preserved.
