We are delighted to offer for sale this unique Victorian-style chest, made by R Crosby & Son as part of the Victorian aesthetic movement. This piece of furniture, crafted from pommelled elm and oak, is a Wellington chest housing 160 sulphur casts of royal and historical seals. This item is exceptional and can be considered a museum piece. The casts are period, aged, and in good condition at 95%, although some have minor chips or cracks. The furniture has been carefully cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished. Its structure has been reinforced with dowel joints, ensuring strength and stability despite the significant weight of the drawers. Dimensions: height 134.5 cm, width 84 cm, depth 52 cm. The condition is good, with signs of wear and slight discolouration consistent with age and use.
