Wooden secretary, 1950s
Vintage secretary bar from the 1950s-1960s, resting on a characteristic tapered base and featuring a glass upper space with sliding doors. Made from a flame-figured and contrasting veneer reminiscent of teak, it includes a functional drop-leaf that forms a desk as well as a low storage compartment with two doors. Its modernist lines and structured format make it an ideal piece for creating an elegant office corner in a living room or large living space. Condition: The furniture is stable, sound, and functional, with the sliding doors and drop-leaf opening and closing correctly. The piece shows a consistent patina of use in line with its age, including some superficial micro-scratches and slight marks on the veneer of the drop-leaf (visible in the photos). Subtle signs of wear that attest to its authenticity without detracting from its overall appearance.
