A pair of “Light Ball” ceiling lamps designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos in the 1960s, an emblematic example of the designers’ ability to transform elementary forms into timeless icons. The design is based on the encounter between a simple opaline glass globe and a softly contoured painted metal base. The composition appears almost spontaneous, as if the light source had simply been placed onto a support shaped to receive it, resulting in an object that is both minimal and remarkably expressive. The even diffusion of light and the absence of any unnecessary detail perfectly embody the Castiglioni brothers’ design philosophy, where functionality and subtle irony coexist in rare balance. Decades after its introduction, Light Ball remains as fresh and contemporary as ever. Condition: Good overall condition, small dent. Fits an E27 bulb. Dimensions: Diameter 33 cm - Height 22 cm.
