Postmodern geometric mirror with blue & dark gray smoked glass, 1980s

Striking postmodern geometric wall mirror, dating from circa the 1980s. A highly decorative and architectural design composed of a large central mirror surrounded by an asymmetric arrangement of turquoise blue, smoked grey and clear mirrored glass elements. The layered strips create a strong three-dimensional effect, particularly at the top and lower sides, where the smoked glass elements appear almost to fan out from the central mirror. The combination of angular geometry, coloured glass and asymmetry is wonderfully characteristic of 1980s postmodern design, with subtle Art Deco revival influences. Despite its generous size, the frameless glass construction gives the mirror a light and sculptural appearance. It would make a fantastic statement piece in an entrance hall, bedroom, dressing room, bathroom or above a console. A particularly unusual vintage mirror with a very decorative colour combination. Good vintage condition with normal signs of age and use. Minor imperfections and age-related wear may be present to the glass and edges, consistent with a vintage mirror.
