Adorable LACOUR secretary desk, made of oak from the 1930s/1940s. ALL YOUR DESKS INSTALLED, MAURICE LACOUR! Proclaims the gold and metallic label proudly nailed to the front of this desk. A brand created in 1848, it still exists today. We occasionally come across this somewhat magical label, with its resolutely retro design and a sign of quality. This desk is a so-called "secretary" model, meaning it's rather small but not a child's desk. Obviously, today it would serve more as a spare desk for teleworking, for example—but a person 180 cm tall can sit on it without any problem. It features a movable shelf on the right, which can be pulled out or retracted under the top with a single movement, providing a kind of additional workspace. The same approach is found with the folding part of the top on the left. Mounted on hinges, it straightens and locks thanks to a mechanism hidden under the top. The top is original, with its small metal pull. On the right, four drawers with screwed wooden handles, the first of which has its original lock (but the key has flown away). Note the very airy feel of the piece, due to the open bottom and the left side simply fitted with spaced strips. The rounded corners close the corners and ensure the solidity of the piece. It has been completely restored. As for defects, apart from the wear and tear typical of a piece of furniture that is almost 100 years old, the handle of the second drawer has been reworked, and a mark also reworked a few centimeters long on the top (see photo here or on my website). But overall, it is in very good condition and ready to use! Sold without the chair. W: 89.5 cm. D: 50 cm. H: 72 cm. Legroom: 50 X 63.5 cm. The price is fixed, thank you. Delivery to the Paris region and ground floor for 40 euros.
