Mirror, Louis XV – XVIII century

Rectangular mirror in carved and gilded wood. Frame with rocaille decoration composed of leaves, scrolls, and shaped mouldings. Relief sculpture, with visible manual work in the hollows and irregularities of the decoration. Original mercury glass, showing alterations to the backing (pitting, tarnished areas, oxidation), consistent with an 18th-century manufacture. Reverse in old wood with period assembly and preserved old hanging system. Antique gilding with natural wear, without recent restoration. Dimensions: 48 × 54 cm / 2.3 kg.
