Sideboard Model FA-66 in rio rosewood by Ib Kofod Larsen. Manufactured by Faarup Mobelfabrik, Denmark, 1960’s. Designed in the 1960s by Danish master Ib Kofod-Larsen and crafted by Faarup Møbelfabrik, the FA-66 sideboard is a quintessential example of Scandinavian modernism. Form, function, and craftsmanship meet in perfect harmony. The cabinet is constructed from rio rosewood (Dalbergia nigra or Brazilian rosewood), one of the most coveted and now-protected exotic hardwoods in the world. Renowned for its deep, almost iridescent grain patterns and rich tonal variation, Rio rosewood possesses a natural beauty. Its rarity is amplified by the fact that trade in new Rio rosewood has been banned for decades, making original vintage pieces like this exceptionally sought after by collectors. With its clean, linear design, subtly integrated handles, and perfectly balanced proportions, the FA-66 exemplifies Kofod-Larsen’s talent for infusing modern minimalism with organic warmth. The craftsmanship of Faarup Møbelfabrik ensures every joint, surface, and detail is executed to perfection, making this sideboard as functional as it is visually striking. A rare opportunity to own not only a masterwork of Danish mid-century design, but also a piece of timber history that can never be produced again. On top is has 4 drawers with intergrated handles, below 4 doors with storage shelves and drawers. CITES – certificate is available.
