Louis-Philippe mirror in wood and gilded stucco with floral decoration, 19th century, 43x38 cm

Louis-Philippe period mirror in gilded wood and stucco, made in the mid-19th century (circa 1840-1870). Its frame with rounded corners is adorned with a relief floral decoration composed of roses, flowers, and foliage, highlighted by a fine inner vegetal frieze and an elegant beaded border. The old gilding has a beautiful patina, largely revealing the original red ground, which gives it a lot of character. The whole piece shows cracks, wear, and old restorations of the stucco, consistent with its age. The glass has probably been replaced during its lifetime, and the back has been restored.
