The West Germany ceramic vase was made in the 1960s and is of German manufacture. A spectacular, tall vase made from vintage German W. Germany-style ceramics, featuring the exceptionally decorative aesthetic of the 1960s and 1970s. The surface is coated in a light, smoky glaze, against which a strong, sculptural texture stands out, along with a relief geometric and floral motif reminiscent of ‘stars’ or stylised flowers. The whole is offset by a darker, chocolate-brown base, which emphasises the form and adds depth to the composition. The vase has a slender, monumental silhouette that tapers delicately towards the top — it looks like an object from a design gallery. It is the sort of piece that instantly defines the character of a room: it will fit perfectly into mid-century modern, loft and brutalist interiors, but also serves as a striking counterpoint in more minimalist spaces. It looks beautiful on its own as a sculpture, but also as a setting for tall branches or a large floral arrangement. A very striking, collector’s item of West German ceramics – its large size and robust structure make it the focal point of any arrangement. Condition: preserved in its original condition; may have minor scratches and normal signs of use. Technical data. Height: 47 cm. Width: 22 cm. Depth: 16 cm.
