Elegant small chiffonier or semainier in Mahogany and burl marquetry. 19th century period. Topped with Sainte-Anne marble, surrounded by a gallery of openwork gilded brass. Note small cracks on the marble (barely visible.) This small refined piece of furniture opens on the front with 6 drawers covered inside with green felt. Drawers of identical dimensions, each decorated with a gilded brass frame which highlights the depth and texture of the burl. Drawer dimensions: 39 cm long and 20 cm wide. Its uprights are fluted. It rests on a tapered base, ending in small gilded bronze shoes, giving an impression of lightness to the whole. Perfect stability. Gilded brass frames are also affixed to its two sides, which gives it a touch of refinement and highlights the quality of the cabinetmaking. Each drawer has a gilded brass pull knob (recently changed). This small piece of furniture exudes an atmosphere of elegance, discreet and good taste, characteristic of 19th century furniture, which favored the quality of materials and the finesse of details. Note slight signs of wear, see photo.
