Height 8 cm | width 2.5 cm | depth 2.5 cm this set of 2 miniature vases was designed by John Andersson for the Swedish manufacturer Höganäs Keramik in the 1950s. Handcrafted by the master, with the utmost care and attention to detail. Vases dyed in an irregular shade of dark brown. Signed with the author's signature and the manufacturer's mark. John Andersson (1899-1969). He remains one of the most remarkable representatives of 20th-century Swedish ceramic design. He was one of the leading designers at the Höganäs factory in the 1940s and 1960s. His works can be seen at the National Museum of Swedish Art and Design. Andersson had mastered the expression of artistic beauty on a miniature scale. Höganäs Keramik, formerly AJ Andersson & Johansson Keramik, was founded in 1909 by Johannes Olofsson and Sigfrid Johansson. Modern appliances have undeniably taken a place in the history of Swedish design. Among the famous ceramists of AJ/Höganäs were John Andersson, Anne Nilsson, Rolf Palm, and Lisa Larson, as well as Gunnar Borg. It is currently a design company that is part of the Iittala group, a Finnish art glass company. This set is in its original vintage condition.
