🟡 LAUKAAN PUU “Pirkka” dining table by Ilmari Tapiovaara, Finland 1950s

Scandinavian design dining table, model Pirkka, designed by Finnish interior architect Ilmari Tapiovaara and manufactured by Laukaan Puu in the 1950s. The table is made of high-quality solid pine and features a beautiful restored brown finish and black lacquered birch legs. Beautiful craftsmanship with elegantly shaped components and solid mortise and tenon joints. Early edition in the largest size. Beautiful original marked mid-century table. A fantastic set with the Pirkka dining chairs (see other add). Condition: Good to very good vintage condition. The tabletop has been restored. Old layers of lacquer have been removed, the tabletop has been lightly sanded, large imperfections filled, and then lacquered brown with a clear finish. The tabletop has retained its warm character with corresponding minor signs of wear. The table stands firmly on its legs. The legs have been relacquered at the ends.
