Vintage Carved Wooden Bookends – Perched Birds – 12 cm

An elegant pair of solid wood bookends, each piece topped with a delicately hand-carved bird. The contrast between the geometric shapes of the sloping bases and the gentle curves of the birds creates a harmonious and decorative ensemble. These bookends, likely made in the 1970s and 1980s, combine traditional craftsmanship with a natural aesthetic. The bird carvings display a warm brown patina, with slight variations in color due to the wood grain and natural wear. Note: a small, discreet chip is visible on the edge of one of the birds' tails (see photos), but this does not affect the stability or overall aesthetics of the set. The overall condition remains good. Each piece measures approximately 12 cm long, 12 cm high, and 6 cm wide. The weight and shape of the blocks effectively hold medium-sized or paperback books (see photos in situ).
