Asparagus plate in slip, motif of 7 asparagus on an ochre background and blue border in art nouveau style. Work of the orchies factory, numbered with the number 5 intaglio on the back. This is an original plate and not a reissue. Diameter 25 cm some marks of time that do not spoil its beauty. Selency tells the story of slip a little history. Slip is a mixture of clay and water used to cast a piece or to glue together the elements of earthenware. But when, in broc', we talk about slip, we are talking about colorful and slightly kitsch earthenware that arrived in france around 1860. The star of the genre is undoubtedly the pitcher, which we love in the style of a duck, rooster or bouquet. We advise you to display it proudly, alone or accompanied, to make it a real decorative element. We love its quirky and unique look capable of brightening up any table without breaking the bank. There have been numerous reissues, and some older pieces are much rarer and sought after by collectors. For example, a pitcher bearing the image of raymond poincaré by onnaing will sell for €200, compared to €30 for a 1950 duck. Remember to look for the signature on the coveted pitcher.
