Crystal salad bowl

Large salad bowl (or coupe) 26cm diameter in cut and gilded Baccarat crystal, from the 19th century and in the Louis XVI style. It features a refined decoration composed of a frieze of laurel leaves, delicate engraved foliage, and enhanced with a rich fine gold thread on its upper edge. The base displays a star cut typical of the productions from the glassworks. As this is an antique piece (pre-1936), it generally does not bear an acid-etched signature (as was the norm at that time when Baccarat used simple paper labels that would wash away). However, this specific ornamental pattern is listed in the historical catalogues of the manufacture (notably the one from 1916 with similar variants). Please note a minimal chip on the outer base. Collection in person or careful and protected shipping.
