Hill house chair, designed by the highly influential scottish architect, designer and artist charles rennie mackintosh in 1903. This particular chair is an early cassina production from the 1970s, marked and numbered 1043. The chair was designed for the hill house project in scotland. Its linear geometric form suggests the minimalism and abstract graphic techniques of japanese design combining symbolic and figurative valves in a single distinctive piece of furniture with a great stage presence. The chair has a frame made of stained solid ash wood. The cushion is newly upholstered in a lovely green cotton velvet fabric. The foam has also been renewed. It is in very good condition. Only minor signs of use.
