Pair of Kashmiri lamps

Pair of Kashmiri lamp bases in papier-mâché and painted wood. Origin: Kashmir, early 20th century. The twisted base is painted with a delicate floral design in shades of yellow, orange, and red on a black background. Condition: Some marks on the wood, particularly at the edge of the base where the paint has chipped somewhat. The varnish is no longer completely uniform. The wiring with switch has been replaced. Details have been photographed. Dimensions: Height to the socket: 30cm. Height with socket: 33.5cm. Diameter of the base: 13cm. Diameter of the foot/column: approximately 5.5cm.
