Original painting by the very popular American landscape painter Robert William Wood (1889–1979). The painting depicts a classic autumn landscape (Autumn Landscape / October Gold), a recurring and highly emblematic theme of the artist, characterised by trees with golden foliage along a stream or pond. Signed Robert Wood 54 in the bottom right corner. Technique used: oil painting on canvas. The texture of the linen canvas can be seen on the back and the raised brush strokes on the front. Created in 1954 according to the signature or in the mid-20th century (around the 1950s–1960s), a period during which Robert Wood produced a large part of his golden landscapes. The painting and canvas are in generally good condition. The frame shows some slight signs of wear on the edges but remains period and of an appropriate style.
