Drawer chest – Georgian period – Solid oak – Brass hardware

English commode in solid oak from the 18th century, Georgian style, circa 1740-1780. It features a configuration of 7 drawers arranged in 4 rows: three drawers at the top, two middle drawers, one intermediate drawer, and a large drawer at the bottom. The front corners are adorned with engaged moulded columns with sculpted capitals and bases. The piece rests on bracket feet characteristic of 18th-century English cabinetry. The brass hardware, in Georgian rococo style, includes handle pulls with pierced plates and heart-shaped lock escutcheons, typical of the period. The back, unfinished, consists of wide horizontal boards darkened by time, attesting to the piece's antiquity. Overall, the structure is sound. There is a significant crack at the top right, as well as various losses and signs of wear consistent with the age of the furniture. Any possible restorations can be requested and quoted by the seller's workshops. Dimensions: H. 95 cm × W. 111 cm × D. 54 cm. Weight: 80 kg.
