I am selling this magnificent coffee table model "Herbier", created by the famous French ceramist Roger Capron in his workshops in Vallauris during the 1960s. It is the rectangular model with rounded corners (sometimes called Shogun or Garrigue) with a dark-stained beech structure and a superb top in perfect condition. The top is made up of stoneware tiles featuring imprints of real plants from the Provençal garrigue (ferns, leaves), pressed into the clay before firing. Each tile is a unique piece. Designer: Roger Capron (1922 - 2006) Origin: Vallauris, France. Period: 1960s. Materials: Top made of stoneware tiles, robust beech structure and legs. Signature: Signed "R. Capron" in relief on one of the tiles of the top (see photo). Dimensions: Length: approximately 97 cm to 98 cm Width: approximately 68 cm Height: approximately 28 cm to 30 cm. Condition: Very good.
