Charming antique mirror with its original mercury glass, offering a magnificent patina of time with natural oxidation that gives it all its character and authenticity. The frame, made of carved and gilded wood, is adorned with an inner frieze featuring finely chiselled beads, framed by simple and elegant mouldings. A discreet geometric pediment, centred at the top, highlights the Louis XVI inspiration, giving the whole piece a great harmony of proportions. The old glass, largely pitted, offers the depth and vibration so characteristic of mercury mirrors; far from being a flaw, this alteration constitutes all the charm of the piece and attests to its antiquity. It captures light softly and brings a refined atmosphere to both classic and contemporary interiors. At the back, a ring has been placed to allow for wall mounting.
