Imposing Art Deco executive desk from the 1930s, remarkable for its sculptural architecture and the richness of its wood. Made of solid walnut and dressed in a superbly figured veneer, presumably walnut burl, it features spectacular grain with brown and amber hues that add depth to the whole. Its silhouette is particularly characteristic of Art Deco: a wide top with thick, generously rounded edges, two side cabinets with streamlined fronts, wide, almost sculptural curved legs, and a central space highlighted at the back by an elegant wave-profiled crossbar. A central drawer with a lock completes the side storage spaces. The doors retain their long metal hinges and antique hardware. The construction is particularly interesting: traditional joinery entirely pegged and the piece made from a single block, non-dismantlable, indicating robust and careful craftsmanship, suggesting it is a German piece from the 1930s. A strong and uncommon piece, ideal as an executive desk, work desk, or central element in an Art Deco, modernist, contemporary, or eclectic interior.
