Vase handles Rambervillers A. Cyterstone flamed metal sandstone

Rambervillers two-handled vase with its iconic metallic sandstone with metallic effect. Signed "rambervillers" and "a. Cytère, " dated 1937. Very nice collector's deco piece. For history buffs: alphonse cytère, director of the rambervillers factory, developed the flaming sandstone technique at the beginning of the 20th century. He also called on artists from the art nouveau movement to diversify his production. Unfortunately, the factory no longer exists but only one ceramic craftsman, marcel ferry, trained by alphonse cythère himself, still knows the secret of the technique of flaming sandstone vosgien! He was even able to keep original moulds from artists of the time, including majorelle. What a story! The vase has no cracks or chippings. It has some slight traces of wear on its cover. Difficult to photograph because of the mirror effect of flaming sandstone. Size: 19 cm height. 4 cm diameter at the collar.
