Wilkhahn Series 800 leather chair by Hans Peter Piel

The lounge chair, made of dark brown faux leather with light brown seat and back cushions, is in good condition. The leather cover of the cushions shows hardly any signs of wear, the seating comfort is impeccable and the chrome frame is in good condition. The rear area of the right armrest has a small cut or abrasion. The clear lines of this armchair and the lightness of the chrome frame make up the timeless design. The german designer hans peter piel designed the 800 series for wilkhahn in the 1960s. The wilkhahn company was founded as a chair factory by friedrich hahne and christian wilkening more than 100 years ago. In 1946, contact with the german workshops was established with the designers georg leowald and herbert hirche, who worked in the tradition of the bauhaus. Since then, wilkhahn has been one of the premium manufacturers of office furniture.
