Hand-carved Louis XVI style headboards with chic vintage caning (1800s)

Two Louis XVI style headboards (for daybeds/sofa beds or sofa bed ends) hand-carved and caned. Double row of caning on each headboard. The uneven size of the water-leaf pine cones and the intricate rosette work in the connecting blocks confirm their 19th-century craftsmanship. Napoleon III period. An old and even patina. Louis XVI daybeds were generally used as sofas in living rooms. They could be used as two headboards for a stylish, trendy, and vintage bedroom. Or, they could be converted into a sofa by replacing the rails and adding bolster cushions, etc. A few minor pitting marks on the wood. The caning is tarnished and slightly damaged on one row of the headboards (see photos). Dimensions. Width = 80cm. Height = 97cm.
